Monday, November 8th, 2010From the New Haven Register this Saturday: After losing jobs since May, the nation gained 151,000 jobs last month, but the unemployment rate stayed at 9.6 percent, the U.S. Department of Labor reported Friday.
The gain in jobs beat Wall Street economists’ expectations. Contributing to the net gain of 151,000 jobs in October, private employers added 159,000 workers to their payrolls; that increase, however, was counteracted somewhat by losses in other sectors of the job market. Here is the full story.
